“I started my adventure at Cordeel in September 2019. After several years of work experience, I wanted something new and retrained within IT. I am extremely happy to have been given the opportunity and confidence to pursue this passion within Cordeel. As IT Support Officer, I come into contact with many different companies and colleagues within the group. The positive reactions from colleagues who were helped, often at very short notice, with their IT problems are very satisfying. However, I am still learning every day and still get a lot of support from our fantastic team. “Electricity and industrial informatics have always interested me. So a career as Software Engineer came as a logical next step after my studies. Since 2016, I have been working at Imtech in the business unit ‘Industrial Solutions’. As Software Engineer, I am responsible for, among other things, writing functional designs, analysis, programming, testing and commissioning software solutions at customers and this mainly within the animal feed industry and malting plants. After a usually long period of preparation, it is always very exciting to see the software come to life at a start-up installation. A successful commissioning gives courage to go full steam ahead with the next project. At the end of the day, I clear my head with a brisk bike ride home.”

“Managing people on site, that’s what I love most. And so, in April 2022, I found my ideal job as a site manager at Cordeel. I am currently working on site at ROCO, one of the Oosterweelverbinding projects. ROCO is the association of the Belgian construction groups BESIX, Cordeel, DEME, Denys, Franki Construct, Jan De Nul, Van Laere and Willemen Infra working on the construction of the sunken Ring Road and canal tunnels. It is an acronym that stands for Respect, Solution-oriented, Connection, Distinctive. As a newcomer to the company, it is a great challenge to end up on such a large site with so many different parties. I am very happy that I have been given the confidence to put my shoulders to the wheel here and receive a lot of support from the company and colleagues. For example, we can attend regular training courses to expand our knowledge and there is a lot of focus on safety on site.”

“For 35 years, as Site Supervisor at Cordeel, I have been ensuring the smooth execution of projects on site. I now have numerous projects to my name, which I look back on with great pride. Working on the construction site often involves the necessary stress and unforeseen circumstances. It gives an incredible sense of togetherness when you can then work as one team, despite the problems, to bring such construction sites to a successful conclusion and lean on each other. Currently, I have more of an advisory role within site management with a strong focus on modernisation and digitalisation. As a company, we go ‘paperless’ as much as possible and together ensure that we can carry out our projects as efficiently as possible. I also like to pass on my knowledge to the younger generation of site managers and help them with the necessary tips & tricks. Cordeel offers many opportunities to young talents and the possibility to steer your career yourself. With the right commitment, motivation and courage to take the plunge into something new, anything is possible. This is how I started as a formworker and was able to grow within Cordeel.”

“In 2021, I started working as maintenance technician in the internal maintenance department for the Temse site. In 2022, I made the shift internally to C-fire where I have since been dealing with everything related to fire safety on a daily basis; fire extinguishers, fire reels, emergency lighting etc. I was guided in this transition by my supervisor and the management; they helped me take on this new challenge taking into account my capabilities and interests. This gave me the opportunity and time to learn more about this new subject. In the warehouse, I collect all the goods for a specific order, after which I install them at the customer’s premises. However, the biggest part of my job is the maintaining the C-fire installations, which I carry out together with my 3 other fellow technicians.”
